Vector-borne Disease Control
Vector-borne Disease Control Range
A global threat
Malaria continues to represent a significant global risk to human life; the WHO recording 660,000 fatal cases in 2019 alone, with the vast majority occurring in many of the World’s poorest regions. For decades, governments have sought to combat the spread of vector-transmitted diseases such as Malaria and Dengue fever through the widespread use of chemical insecticides. The unfortunate result of this approach has not only been a failure to eradicate disease-transmission but also significant negative environmental impacts arising from the use of toxic ingredients.

A proven solution
Contraflow is an effective and non-toxic solution proven to kill mosquito and other vector insect larvae, before they hatch. Larvae rely on water to survive and grow into adult mosquitos, protected by their durable cocoon through this development process. Contraflow’s unique, environmentally friendly formulation is proven to kill 100% of larvae at all stages of development, ensuring no negative impact upon wider aquatic life or the surrounding environment upon which people and animals rely.
Although extremely effective as an ‘adulticide’ (exterminator of adult vector insects), Contraflow is also proven to be an outstanding ‘larvicide’ with a proven ability to eliminate entire populations of larvae within two hours. Contraflow works as an Insect growth regulator (IGR); preventing vector insects from developing to adulthood by preventing the formulation of chitin, essential to the formation of each vector insect’s exoskeleton, thus preventing them from ever reaching adulthood and capable of transmitting disease.
Safe to use and environmentally responsible, with Contraflow the world has the power to finally turn the tide against insect transmitted disease.
Contraflow at a glance
- Laboratory and field proven to kill 100% of larvae at all stages of development
- Non-toxic with no hazardous impacts on humans or the environment
- Effective against the wide range of mosquito species when used as either a larvicide, ovicide and adulticide
- Cost effective, simple to use and readily available
Impact at Scale
We believe that a tangible impact upon the spread of vector disease will only occur through the adoption of Contraflow at national and international scale.
